Gee Scott Jr. Was a steady presence for the Ohio State Buckeyes, culminating in a national championship.
Now, he's trying to pursue his NFL dreams, and he took a big step on Tuesday.
The Washington Commanders announced that they have signed Scott to their practice squad. It's a chance for him to get in an NFL building and impress the coaching staff as the season winds down for the Commanders, who have three regular season games remaining and won't make the playoffs.

Scott had previously signed with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May. He was waived in August, re-signed in September and cut again in October.
The 6-foot-2 tight end had been a free agent since being cut on Oct. 14, so about two months before the Commanders have given him a chance.
Scott is originally from the Seattle area and was a four-star recruit before committing to the Buckeyes.

He spent five seasons in Columbus, improving his numbers each year.
In the title campaign a year ago, Scott had 27 catches for 253 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
At Ohio State's Pro Day, Scott ran a 4.60-second 40-yard dash and had a 35-inch vertical jump.
He proved himself value to the best team in college football a year ago. He'll now try to bring that winning mentality to the pros.
