Ted Ginn Jr. Is returning to coach football in Columbus.
It won't be for the Ohio State Buckeyes, though, despite that being the place he grew his football legend.
TGJ has been named the head coach of the Columbus Aviators, who are a new team joining the existing UFL for the 2026 season.
“Today marks a new milestone in my football journey,” Ginn said in a statement. “When I heard that the United Football League was going to have a football team in Columbus, I wanted to be a part of creating a new winning tradition in this city that is such an important part of my life. I can’t wait to start building this team and I ask football fans throughout the state to join the Aviators as they take flight.”
Ginn was a superstar wide receiver and return man for Ohio State before going to the NFL as a first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins.
He spent more than a decade in the NFL, also playing for the 49ers, Panthers, Cardinals, Saints and Bears.
Ginn Jr. Has coaching in his blood. His father is a legendary high school football and track coach in the Cleveland area at Glenville High School, where TGJ once played and ran for his dad.
Now, Ginn Jr. Gets a chance to pursue his own coaching dreams and keep himself involved in pro football.
