Is Ohio State's Bo Jackson son of NFL legend? What to know about relation to Lamar Jackson image

Ohio State's Bo Jackson is a rising star.

Just a true freshman, he had his breakout college football game in Week 2 against Grambling State for the Buckeyes.

He's definitely got an eye-catching name, too.

Here's what you need to know.

Is Ohio State's Bo Jackson related to NFL, MLB legend?

No, Ohio State's Bo Jackson isn't related to Bo Jackson, the all-time great athlete who starred at Auburn before playing for the Oakland Raiders and the Kansas City Royals.

This Bo Jackson isn't even named Bo.

The Buckeyes' Jackson is named Lamar. That's his father's name, too (and no, not the Ravens QB or anyone related to him, either).

Jackson's nickname of "Bo" is in homage to the one-time Heisman Trophy winner, though. The new Bo grew up as a multi-sport athlete, too, according to ESPN.

Ohio State RB Bo Jackson recruiting rankings

Bo Jackson was a great local get for Ohio State.

He attended Villa Angela-St. Joseph in Cleveland.

Jackson was a four-star recruit and the No. 136 overall recruit in ESPN's rankings.

He committed to Ohio State over offers from SEC powerhouses Alabama and Georgia.

And now he's trying to make a name for himself.
