College Football Playoff projection: No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes image

The Ohio State Buckeyes are positioned atop the 2025 College Football Playoff picture after compiling an 11-0 record heading into their regular-season finale against two-loss Michigan.

With receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate listed as day-to-day by head coach Ryan Day, the questions that remain about the Buckeyes’ depth are valid. Especially with the Big Ten Championship likely.

But the bigger storyline is ending the four-game losing streak to their arch-rival Wolverines. One more loss and the streak will be the worst in over a century of 'The Game'.

A win over Michigan Wolverines not only secures the Big Ten title game berth but likely ushers the Buckeyes to a top seed in the playoff field. On3's Andy Staples projects Ohio State as the No. 1 seed entering the postseason. Their path to the playoff appears clear, but the pressure of the rivalry is the top factor in Week 14.

This game carries both playoff and pride implications. With the expectation high, the Buckeyes hope to avoid a mental misstep and reclaim dominance. They’ll advance regardless of the next two games. However, the top seed goes away with a loss.
