Notre Dame entered Saturday looking for its first win of the season and validated those expectations early, scoring at will against Purdue. Then came the lightning.

Weather delayed the matchup between the Fighting Irish and Boilermakers for an extended stretch late in the first half. When play finally resumed around 7 p.m. ET, both teams agreed to skip halftime and head straight into the third quarter once the second ended.

The delay pushed the game so late that NBC was forced to move it off the main network in favor of a highly anticipated Big Ten matchup between Illinois and Indiana—a reversal of an earlier decision that had already drawn backlash.

Here’s what you need to know to catch the end of Notre Dame’s battle with Purdue.

What channel is the Notre Dame game on?

NBC Sports announced the finish of Purdue vs. Notre Dame has been shifted to Peacock, the network's streaming service.

That decision only came after NBC initially said the opposite. At 7:30 p.m. ET, just as Illinois vs. Indiana was set to kick off, the network announced the start of the game would air on Peacock. That call drew considerable backlash on social media, given Notre Dame already had a massive lead on Purdue and the matchup between the Illini and Hoosiers was billed as one of the top games of the week.

16 minutes later, NBC issued a reversal: Most NBC stations would pick up Illinois vs. Indiana at 7:50 p.m. ET, with Peacock picking up the Notre Dame broadcast.

Those looking to watch the conclusion of Notre Dame's matchup with Purdue will have to log into Peacock to see it, with a few exceptions.
