Several college football coaches have emerged as potential long-shot candidates as the Baltimore Ravens continue their search for a new head coach following the dismissal of John Harbaugh.

Since Harbaugh was fired last week, Baltimore has interviewed several NFL assistants and former head coaches, including Brian Flores, Kevin Stefanski, Mike McDaniel and other candidates as the organization works through an expansive list.

But are the Ravens looking elsewhere. Owner Steve Bisciotti confirmed Tuesday that interest has also come from the college ranks.

“There’s been a couple college coaches that have reached out to us,” Bisciotti told reporters. “If Eric (DeCosta) is interested in a college coach, he’s welcome to interview them.”

One name drawing speculation is Deion Sanders, a former Ravens cornerback who remains closely tied to the franchise. Sanders’ tenure at Colorado has been uneven, and league sources have previously linked him to NFL curiosity. With the Buffaloes struggling to retain talent, the timing could fuel further intrigue, even if it remains a remote possibility.

A more realistic college option could be Marcus Freeman of Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Dianna Russini of The Athletic recently reported that multiple NFL teams have held internal discussions about Freeman.

Notre Dame athletic director Pete Bevacqua has publicly reiterated the school’s commitment to Freeman, who owns a 43-12 record. If Freeman ever left South Bend for the NFL, it would likely be for a high-profile opening like Baltimore or Pittsburgh now that Mike Tomlin stepped down.
