Jeremiyah Love is trying to live up to his last name and hopes Heisman voters have some in return for him. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish rusher has vaulted into the Heisman conversation following back-to-back huge games, However, his odds still reflect long-shot status.
According to recent tracking from ESPN, Love’s odds improved dramatically as the biggest jump of the season. But will it be enough for a trip to New York?
Love has now rushed for more than 100 yards in six games this season, including a 228-yard performance against USC Trojans. Yet analysts caution that while his numbers are strong and his highlight plays plentiful, the resume remains “soft." Many of his biggest games came against weaker opponents, which may limit his appeal with voters.
