Ace Alston made sure his commitment announcement would be remembered.
The four-star cornerback from Cincinnati’s Anderson High School pledged to Notre Dame on Tuesday, going viral after celebrating the moment by pouring a bowl of Lucky Charms in a nod to the Fighting Irish.
The 5-foot-11 and 175 pounder chose Notre Dame over a long list of national powers, including Ohio State, Tennessee, Indiana, Michigan and others.

His decision adds another blue-chip defender to Marcus Freeman’s 2027 class, which now holds eight commitments and sits at No. 3 nationally in the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.
Alston has earned praise for his instincts, reaction time and short-area burst. According to 247Sports, he has recorded 26 pass breakups over the past two seasons while showing the ability to flip his hips, maintain leverage and make plays both in man and zone coverage. Evaluators note his physicality in run support and open-field tackling, though they also list his long-speed as an area still under development.
The Irish look to maintain one of the nation’s strongest future secondaries as roster management evolves in the coming years.
