Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson appear to be making moves in the business world.

A company owned by the NFL coaching great, which is managed by his 24-year-old girlfriend, has filed a trademark on the term "Gold Digger," according to a report by former ESPN writer Darren Rovell. TCE Rights Management LLC intends to use mark on jewelry and keychains.

This was one of 17 trademark applications filed this year by Hudson, including "Chapel Bill," "Belestrator," "Trail of Salty Tears," "No Days Off" and "The Belichick Way," as the favorites.

Hudson has taken an active role in the business dealings on behalf of Belichick. Many will remember her playing the role of moderator during the infamous CBS "60 Minutes" feature. She has also handled media management and a growing real-estate portfolio. HBO Hard Knocks wanted to be on North Carolina's campus this year, but the deal fell through reportedly due to Hudson wanting to take over creative control from NFL Films.

The 73-year-old six-time Super Bowl winning football coach has arguably made more headlines as of late for his relationship with Hudson, but he's not slowing down days before the start of the college football season.

The Belichick era at UNC, even without any of the drama in his personal life, would have been a big deal. But this is one of the few stories in sports that has crossed over into pop culture almost completely. It's similar to how Deion Sanders took over at Colorado.

To be fair, expectations for the Tar Heels’ first year under Belichick should be on a higher level than Coach Prime's Power Five debut with the Buffaloes. For UNC, a football team that went 6-7 last year, they're a few pieces away from being an ACC contender. However, it’s been over four decades since its last conference title in 1980. Also, the Tar Heels have just one double-digit win season in the last 27 years.

Needless to say, UNC will take time to become a powerhouse, if they ever do under Belichick.
