The docuseries about Bill Belichick, Jordon Hudson and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels football program reportedly fell apart due to creative differences with Hulu, according to People. A source close to the project says the legendary coach and the streaming service could not agree on the show’s focus.

“Jordon, Bill and UNC all agreed that Hulu’s vision of the project was not in alignment with theirs,” the source told people. The reported vision was something similar to "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" with Bill and Jordon being the focus.

Belichick, 73, was "enthusiastic to give unprecedented access to the program; it’s too bad Hulu wanted to dive deep into his home life," according to the source.

The docuseries, temporarily titled Untitled Bill and Jordon Project, unraveled when “Jordon and Bill refused to sign appearance releases,” according to the report. The source adds that Belichick is now “laser-focused on the football team,” while he and Hudson, 24, have “put the potential future of the project on the back burner.”

Hudson “played an instrumental role in stopping the production” after requesting to be “heavily involved." A second source close to Hulu told People, “The project that was originally pitched was not the series that was coming together, and the series that was coming together was not up to standards. The decision was ultimately made to part ways.”

It's clear to see there was a gap between perception and reality. For now, Belichick can feel like the right decision was made given the Tar Heels are 2-3 overall. Any type of production crew being around the UNC football program 24/7 would've been another unwanted distraction.

Belichick announced the Hulu partnership in August, saying the series would spotlight the Tar Heels’ hard work and development.

Now that UNC is halfway through the season, every game becomes important towards postseason contention. If Belichick can get the Tar Heels to a bowl, the second half surge would be considered a win.
