The Wisconsin Badgers have not been trending in the right direction on the football field.
A turnaround on the gridiron could start at the quarterback position, and the best place to find a good one these days is the transfer portal.
Wisconsin is reportedly involved in an uber-talented passer: Marcus Stokes.
Stokes isn't a household name, because he has been playing at the Division II level for West Florida.
But he's got all sorts of D-I programs in on him since entering the transfer portal.
Stokes is up for the Harlon Hill Award, which is the Division II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. He put up 3,664 total yards in the 2025 season with 40 touchdowns.
This is the gargantuan list of interested teams shared on X by On3's Hayes Fawcett:

As you can see, Wisconsin is competing with a ton of programs for Stokes, including fellow Big Ten squad Maryland.
The transfer portal works a bit differently than standard high school recruiting, so for a desired player like Stokes, it somehow doesn't get narrowed down before he picks a school.
But if Wisconsin stays in the running, this has a chance to be a major addition for the Badgers.
