The curtain rises on the 2025 season with a first-time clash between Washington and Colorado State, giving Husky Stadium a brand-new guest for opening weekend.

It's year two in the Big Ten and year two under Jedd Fisch for the Huskies, who are hoping to build on a 6-7 campaign that ended with a Sun Bowl appearance. Their opponent, Colorado State, put together an 8-5 run last fall and capped it with a trip to the Arizona Bowl.

Washington has been an immovable force at home, riding a 20-game win streak on its own turf — the longest stretch in modern school history. This season's roster looks fresh, with 47 new faces joining the program and seven starters returning along the offensive line.

The Rams won't be pushovers, either. Boise State may be the crown jewel of the Mountain West, but Colorado State has the tools to be right in the thick of the title chase. The offensive line is seasoned and steady, keeping veteran quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi upright long enough to make things happen.

Meanwhile, Washington's front five has something to prove. Last year's group struggled to open running lanes and wavered too often in pass protection. That could spell trouble against a Colorado State defense now guided by Tyson Summers, a coordinator known for cranking up the heat and sending waves of pressure.
