The Utah Utes 2026 football recruiting class is the program's best ever. A first-time five-star with offense lineman Kevin Obot headed to Salt Lake City. He held offers from a majority of schools around the nation. Also, four-star Mataalii Benjamin will join Obot in the trenches.

Out of the 15 players joining the roster, there was one name that caught everyone's attention. Three-star defensive end Penisimani Takitaki signed his letter of intent on Wednesday.

While this sounds like every announcers worst nightmare, don't worry. Tikitaki will be going by PJ next season and beyond. Needless to say, they all caught a break.

Outside of stout recruiting class, Utah is in a great position to land a top bowl game. Kyle Whittingham's team landed at No. 15 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. There was a shot to make the final 12, but those hopes are out the window at this point.

The Utes only losses are to the Big 12's final teams-- BYU and Texas Tech-- who square off for a Playoff bid this weekend.
