The Alabama Crimson Tide avoided the upset against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, winning 30-14 at home. Although the biggest name at quarterback entering this one was Vandy's Diego Pavia, the signal-caller with the best day was Alabama's Ty Simpson.
The Tide junior quarterback threw two touchdowns in the victory. Although its still early in the season, it's never too early to start looking ahead to the Heisman Trophy race.
After Saturday's victory, Simpson looks like an early favorite to take home the hardware.
