Arch Manning's most significant test since Week 1 awaits on Saturday night.

The Texas Longhorns have steadied their season after losing two of their first five games, including Arch Manning’s starting debut against Ohio State in August. Manning has found his rhythm over the past four matchups, throwing for 972 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception. Texas has recently taken down Oklahoma and Vanderbilt to stay alive in the playoff race, but its next challenge -- No. 5 Georgia -- features one of the best defenses in college football.

Georgia hasn't had much trouble since a September loss to Alabama and remains firmly in the mix at the top of the SEC. But with the CFP committee just weeks away from finalizing its 2025 12-team bracket, Saturday's matchup between the Longhorns and Bulldogs could go a long way toward determining which SEC teams will have a shot at the national title.

As Manning looks to prove himself on a big stage once again, Gunner Stockton and the Bulldogs will be eyeing their sixth straight win and potentially their second victory over a top-10 opponent.

Texas vs. Georgia live updates, highlights from 2025 SEC college football game

All times Eastern.

Georgia 28, Texas 10

10:33 p.m. TOUCHDOWN —  Gunner Stockton has made a statement tonight. He's now completed 24 of 29 passes for 229 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, with his lasting scoring pass going to Lawson Luckie. Georgia left the door open for a while, but the Bulldogs are now shutting the door on the Longhorns' chances at an upset.

10:30 p.m. —  Stockton is leading the Bulldogs on another well-executed drive into the red zone, eating clock with efficient runs and moving the chains. Georgia can put Texas on the brink of its third loss with another touchdown.

10:20 p.m. —  Immediately following the touchdown, Kirby Smart took a wild gamble, attempting an onside kick. It paid off. Georgia recovers the shocking onside kick, robbing Steve Sarkisian of a possession. The Bulldogs can now burn some clock, or extend it to a three-score advantage.

Georgia 21, Texas 10

10:18 p.m. TOUCHDOWN —  Stockton delivers his third touchdown pass of the night, a key one that puts Texas down two scores in the fourth quarter. From 30 yards out, Georgia's quarterback went to London Humphreys for the score.

End of third quarter: Georgia 14, Texas 10

10:08 p.m. —  Georgia keeps a massive drive going on 4th & 1, going for it from its own 36-yard line. Smart's call pays off; Stockton goes to Chauncey Bowens for a 10-yard pickup to keep the drive alive. With the third quarter winding down, the intensity has picked up in Athens.

As we head to the fourth, it's still anybody's game.

Georgia 14, Texas 10

9:58 p.m. TOUCHDOWN —  This is a one-score game once again. Arch Manning hits Ryan Wingo for the receiver's eighth catch of the day, this one in the end zone to make it 14-10.

9:55 p.m. — Down goes Arch Manning, taking his second sack of the day on 2nd & 10. He's completed 19 of his 27 passes, but without getting into the end zone.

9:49 p.m. —  Texas punted, but Stockton gives the ball right back in what's becoming a defensive battle. Anthony Hill Jr. Picks off Stockton's pass, and both quarterbacks have a turnover tonight.

9:40 p.m. —  Georgia's offense has been unable to build upon its lead since Stockton's second touchdown pass. The Longhorns get a stop to open the second half, as Manning gets the ball quickly.

9:37 p.m. —  Stockton starts the second half with the ball, able to make it a three-score game.

Halftime: Georgia 14, Texas 3

9:14 p.m. —  Texas doesn't try to force anything with a few seconds remaining, sending this SEC matchup to halftime. Georgia is in control, with Kirby Smart's defense slowing down Manning (125 passing yards, 1 INT) enough, especially on third downs. Gunner Stockton has been efficient and effective, with 139 yards passing and two touchdowns.

Texas' playoff hopes will likely be on the line in the second half.

9:12 p.m. —  Another punt for Georgia. Manning has little time, but will get the ball before the end of the half. Both offenses have gone cold late in the second quarter.

9:04 p.m. —  With two minutes remaining in the half, Georgia has the ball. The Bulldogs quickly punted after Manning's interception, but Texas proceeded to go three-and-out, setting Stockton up for a chance to add some points before the break.

Georgia will get the ball to begin the second half, a chance to double-up in scoring opportunities.

8:56 p.m. — Just as Manning got Texas in range to score again, he throws a pick. KJ Bolden grabs it for the Bulldogs, a key turnover to give Georgia another chance to extend its first-half lead. Manning had a strong start initially, but hasn't had many answers for Kirby Smart's defense.

8:55 p.m. —  The Texas run game has been more present tonight, up to 4.6 yards per carry so far with Quintrevion Wisner leading the way. The Longhorns are in field-goal range.

8:50 p.m. —  Stockton can't get much going after consecutive touchdown drives. Georgia punts, and Texas will get another opportunity to make this a closer game again.

8:40 p.m. — The Georgia defense has settled in since the start of the matchup. Texas punts again, as Manning did have a 40-yard play to Emmett Mosley V, but poor field position was too much to overcome. Manning has 75 yards thus far, trailing by two scores.

Georgia 14, Texas 3

8:34 p.m. TOUCHDOWN —  Gunner Stockton is off to a fantastic start. He continues cruising on his second drive, extending Georgia's lead with a touchdown pass to Thomas once again. Stockton has 103 passing yards already.

End of first quarter: Georgia 7, Texas 3

8:20 p.m. —  Texas' offense gets shut down on its second drive. The Longhorns punt with around two minutes left in the first quarter, and as we head to the second frame, the Bulldogs can add to their lead

Georgia 7, Texas 3

8:09 p.m. TOUCHDOWN —  Georgia got a key third-down conversion past midfield, and it takes advantage just a few plays later. Stockton finds Noah Thomas from 17 yards out in the end zone to take the lead, as the Bulldogs passer had a red-hot drive: 6-for-7 passing for 57 yards and a touchdown, plus 18 rushing yards.

8:05 p.m. —  Gunner Stockton is off to a strong start, running for 18 yards over two plays while also completing four passes. He has the Bulldogs on the move.

Texas 3, Georgia 0

7:59 p.m. FIELD GOAL —  The Longhorns steadily made their way down the field, including 33 rushing yards and four Manning completions, but they stall out from there. Texas settles for a field goal to open this SEC matchup.

7:55 p.m. —  Texas is threatening to score on its opening drive, 11 plays in.

7:51 p.m. —  Arch Manning begins with the football as the Longhorns offense takes the field. He completes his first three passes to get past midfield.
