At this week’s SEC Media Days in Atlanta, Texas undoubtedly was one of the more highly anticipated schools in demand.
With a team coming off back-to-back College Football Playoff appearances, a team that is wanting to play for its first national title in 20 years and the highly publicized naming of Arch Manning as the starting quarterback, the Longhorns are definitely going to warrant their fair share of attention.
But - especially with Texas still a relatively new SEC member entering its second season in the league - that doesn’t necessarily mean everything is going to go smoothly. That was evidenced when Longhorn coach Steve Sarkisian made his way to the podium to talk about the upcoming season.
Instead of being introduced to his team’s fight song, as is customary for every coach in the league when taking the podium, Sarkisian came out to the sounds of none other than “The Aggie War Hymn,” which happens to be the fight song of the Longhorns’ hated rival, Texas A&M, which was inadvertently played.

If Sarkisian noticed the snafu, it seemed like it didn’t faze him as he went right into his opening address.
But as a way of making it up to the Texas coach, when Sarkisian wrapped up his comments and exited, the Longhorns’ fight song, “Texas Fight,” was properly played.

All in all, just another bizarre moment at SEC Media Days, which has seen more than its fair share over the years.
