Oregon quarterback Dante Moore delivered his most complete game of the season in the Ducks’ rivalry victory over Oregon State, a performance that has strengthened his early Heisman Trophy 2025 campaign.
The On3 Heisman Trophy Poll placed Oregon quarterback Dante Moore at No. 7 this week after his strongest showing of the season.
Moore finished 21 of 31 passing for 305 yards with four touchdowns, his highest single-game total this year. He also added seven carries for 53 yards, mixing in both scrambles and designed runs.
The Ducks improved to 4-0, keeping them firmly in the playoff conversation and putting Moore in the spotlight nationally.
Through four games, Moore has completed 50 of 64 passes for 657 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only one interception. Sportsbook operator Fanduel currently lists him among the Heisman favorites with +1300 odds.
The sophomore spread the ball to eight different receivers Saturday, including his growing connection with wideout Dakorien Moore. The “Moore to Moore” pairing clicked three times for 63 yards and a touchdown.
He also hit Malik Benson on a perfectly placed 32-yard throw in the second quarter, a pass that may have been his best of the night despite not ending in the end zone.
After the game, Moore acknowledged both head coach Dan Lanning and Nike co-founder Phil Knight in his remarks.
“Were playing for Phil, and we thank this community so much, you know we love Eugene, we love the state of Oregon,” Moore said. “Every week, coach Lanning pushes us at practice. Practice has to look a certain way, and if it doesn't look a certain way, he restarts practice all over again. So were gonna push ourselves, and we're gonna recover.”
Oregon now turns to Week 5 with a road trip to Penn State, a matchup that could mark Moore’s toughest challenge yet as he looks to keep climbing in the Heisman Trophy race.
