It’s a year later and Nebraska has the same Raiola issue. Last season the Cornhuskers were able to keep Raiola out of the transfer portal. This year might be a different story.
According to CBS Sports, last offseason Raiola had “informal conversations” with additional programs regarding a possible transfer. Nothing ever came of that last year, but there are growing concerns he could look to greener pastures.
If Raiola opts out of Nebraska, there will have been signs. Last week, Dylan’s brother Dayton decommitted from Nebraska. That was the first significant domino to fall. According to CBS Dominic Raiola, Dylan Raiola’s father and former Cornhusker, declined to comment in the original report.
If Raiola does enter the portal, it likely won’t be money driven. Raiola made $3.5 million in 2025. Nebraska is also expected to increase its total NIL/revenue share payout next season.
Raiola will be heading into year three in 2026. If he were to enter the transfer portal, there is a blueprint he could follow. With NFL Draft eligibility coming after the 2026 season, Raiola could follow in the footsteps of Carson Beck, Dillon Gabriel or a Jalen Hurts. All played their final college season with a one year at a new location before leaving for the draft.
After two seasons in Lincoln, Raiola has registered almost 5,000 yards passing, 31 touchdowns, 17 interceptions on a combined 69.1 completion percentage. While his passing yards are down in 2025, mostly due to missing games to injury (broken fibula).
However, everything else was a step up. In 2025 his completion percentage is up, 72.4% vs 67.1% in 2024. His touchdowns are up, 18 vs 13 in 2024. His interceptions are also significantly less, 6 in 2025 vs 11 in 2024.
Raiola has not as of yet made any significant indications of his intentions, but there does seem to be some concern with the Nebraska quarterback. The transfer portal officially opens on January 2nd.
