Lane Kiffin has finally made a decision on his coaching future in college football.

Kiffin announced on Sunday that he is leaving Ole Miss and taking the head coaching job at LSU. His full statement is below.

Kiffin's future with the Rebels has been up in the air over the last few weeks, as rumors of him leaving for Baton Rouge and becoming the head coach at LSU had begun surfacing. In the end, Kiffin decides to leave behind an 11-1 Ole Miss squad with National Championship hopes and become the next head coach of the Tigers.

A day after the Rebels' victory over Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl, Kiffin met with Athletic Director Keith Carter and the chancellor of Ole Miss and requested to coach the team in the SEC championship and potentially further despite his intentions of leaving to coach LSU.

However, Carter denied Kiffin's wishes, leading to the long-time SEC coach taking the job at LSU.

During his time at Ole Miss, Kiffin posted a 55-19 record in six years and four bowl wins. He will now look to revitalize the Tigers and bring LSU back into SEC contention.
