Elijah Sarratt is a star wide receiver for the Indiana Hoosiers.
And he's got a dog named CC -- but no, not named after head coach Curt Cignetti.
This pooch is named after Caitlin Clark, the former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar who now hoops in the WNBA for the Indiana Fever.
"She’s named after Caitlin Clark," Sarratt told media before the College Football Playoff national championship game. "Indiana fans may not like that.”

And now we wouldn't make you go any further here without a look at the adorable CC:

Of course, this doesn't have an impact on what happens in the national title game.
That doesn't mean it's not awesome.
It's cool athlete synergy, some great respect for a great women's basketball player by Sarratt.
It's also just a fun story, one that humanizes Sarratt and his cool pup.
And yes, now he'll try to win the final game of the season and complete this storybook season for Indiana.
