Programs who lose a head coach often suffer on national early signing day.
The Auburn Tigers, though, after Hugh Freeze left and was replaced by Alex Golesh, are still having a solid go of it Wednesday.
They did lose Bralan Womack in a flip to Mississippi State, but otherwise, not bad.
ESPN listed Auburn as an overachiever in its article breaking down the signing day.

This is how ESPN summed up the class:
Despite the firing of coach Hugh Freeze and some late defectors, this class still has major talent upgrades committed, particularly on defense. The class is not large, but it is stacked with overall top-end talent. There are four players ranked within the top 11 players in the country at their respective position and two within the top three.
Adam Balogoun-Ali is the country's No. 1 inside linebacker and also happens to have significant growth upside with his lengthy frame. He can play inside and on the outside as an edge rusher and excels in space due to his speed and agility. The Tigers also have a commitment from the No. 3 inside linebacker in the class, Shadarius Toodle. Toodle is just a step behind Balogoun-Ali in terms of overall speed and is a downhill gap plugger in the middle of the field.
New head coach Alex Golesh has a good foundation to head into the dead period with and attack the transfer portal in January for more additions.

Landing two star linebackers can form the foundation for a defense for years to come.
Overall, Auburn got six commitments from inside ESPN's top-300, and eight total four-star commits.
That's about as good as could be expected with the coaching change.
Clearly, the players who chose Auburn were buying in to the school and program as a whole, and now they're following through on that.
