Army clinched bowl game spot by throwing a TD to a TE for 1st time since 2008 image

This stat is almost too crazy to believe, but it's true.

Army threw a touchdown to a tight end on Saturday for the first time since 2008.

And this wasn't just any TD to a TE. It qualified the Cadets for a bowl game with their sixth win of the season, the game-winning score against UTSA.

For those keeping score at home, the history-making tight end is Parker Poloskey.

The pass came from quarterback Cale Hellums.

Army, of course, has a run-heavy offense. Even when the Cadets throw, the tight ends stay in and block most of the time.

So this is a rare occurrence.

And it means that Army gets to play football beyond the Army-Navy game, getting a bowl, too.
