There is no shortage of animus in the Alabama Crimson Tide's rivalry with the Georgia Bulldogs.
The two programs are heavyweights in the college football landscape, routinely touted as national title contenders before every season. The Bulldogs have lived up to that reputation so far in 2025. The Crimson Tide can’t quite say the same.
Georgia (3-0) overcame its first real test of the season in Week 3, downing No. 15 Tennessee in overtime, 44-41. With Gunnar Stockton at the helm and Kirby Smart barking instructions from the sidelines, the Bulldogs look well-equipped to make another run at the College Football Playoff — assuming, of course, they navigate the myriad potholes that can emerge in conference play.
Alabama (2-1), meanwhile, is in free fall. A Week 1 defeat at the hands of Florida State made it seem like the sky was falling in Tuscaloosa. And although the Crimson Tide rallied for back-to-back victories over UL Monroe and Wisconsin, head coach Kalen DeBoer remains in a precarious position on the sidelines.
The famous rivalry will be rekindled once more on Saturday night. Can Georgia score a momentous win over its hated rival and push DeBoer closer to the edge? Or can Alabama stop the bleeding and reestablish itself as a CFP threat with a victory?

10:10 p.m: TOUCHDOWN! Georgia fired back with another touchdown! The Bulldogs raced down the field, taking advantage of its improved field position after Talty’s miscue! Josh McCray crept in from short-range to cut Alabama’s advantage to just three.

10:00 p.m.: The Crimson Tide brought the ball down the field once more with relative ease. However, Talty’s ensuing effort spurned the goalposts. Georgia survives.
9:50 p.m.: We’re back to green from Athens. Alabama will start the half with possession.
9:25 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Simpson does it again! His third score of the day is a rushing one!

9:20 p.m.: The Crimson Tide are percolating once more. Simpson has Alabama on the prowl — and probing for another score.
9:08 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Georgia finds pay dirt! Chauncey Bowens played a vital role in bringing the ball down the field after gobbling up 43 on the run! He finishes things off nicely with a two-yard score of his own.

9:05 p.m.: Georgia has stormed back with a vengeance, racing down the field to place itself on the edge of the end zone. The Bulldogs looked to be pegged back by a turnover on downs after being stuffed on fourth. But a defensive holding call resets the deck for Kirby Smart's side. They have another four downs to work with.
8:50 p.m.: FIELD GOAL! Alabama tacks on three via a 24-yard Conor Talty effort.

8:50 p.m.: FUMBLE! Alabama hops on the ball after jarring in loose. That is Kalen DeBoer's squad's seventh forced turnover of the year. It has yet to give the ball away.

8:30 p.m.: There's been a lot of huffing and puffing from both sides. But through 15 minutes, there's little to show for it — save for Simpson and Bernard's sumptuous connection.
8:20 p.m.: Georgia's opening drive flames out amid a flurry on incompletions. The Crimson Tide will have a chance to add to their advantage.
8:10 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN! Alabama opens the scoring after Simpson finds Bernard again, this time with a six-yard score!

8:06 p.m.: The chunk plays continue for the Tide, who gobble up another 18 via Germie Bernard's scamper after a dump-off pass. They're on the doorstep of the end zone!
8:01 p.m.: But they storm right back courtesy of a 24-yard pitch and catch between Ty Simpson and Isaiah Horton!
7:55 p.m.: The Crimson Tide have shown a little juice thus far, breaching into Georgia's half. But they could have had so much more; Williams dropped a wide open pass that would've surely ended with six. Can't make those mistakes against a side of the Bulldogs' quality.
7:45 p.m.: And we're off! The Tide and the Bulldogs are on the field! Alabama will start the contest with possession of the rock.
7:00 p.m.: The stars will be out come Saturday night, with Ryan Williams and Gunnar Stockton expected to author up major displays. Who will reign supreme atop the glistening Athens grass? Only time will tell.
