Jim Harbaugh trends after comments on Sherrone Moore's firing image

Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday he is “still processing” the abrupt firing and arrest of former Michigan coach Sherrone Moore. The stunning development sent shockwaves through the college football landscape

“Still processing that like a lot of people, I’m sure,” Harbaugh said, adding that he learned of Moore’s dismissal from an equipment staffer after practice Thursday.

Michigan fired Moore for cause Wednesday following a university investigation that found “credible evidence” he had engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. The dismissal came amid rapidly unfolding legal trouble.

Harbaugh has a history with Moore, hiring him as Michigan’s tight ends coach in 2018. He later took over as offensive coordinator and played a key role in the Wolverines’ 2023 national championship.

After Harbaugh left for the NFL, Moore took over as Michigan’s head coach for the past two seasons. He was the hand-picked successors in Ann Arbor, which has now sparked controversy due to the process.

With Moore out, the abrupt end to his tenure will likely spark more questions about the state of the program. Michigan is coming off one of the worst scandals in school history after stealing signs from opponents.

For now, Michigan will have to find a new coach in one of the biggest coaching carousels. However, there's no room for error this time around.
