Carson Beck probably didn't have Lane Kiffin on his mind at all Thursday night.
That being said, the Miami Hurricanes' QB still made quite the statement to the former Ole Miss and current LSU head football coach.
After Beck transferred to Miami from Georgia, Kiffin questioned the move.
“Miami gave him $4.3 million? Did they watch his game against us?” Kiffin wondered in an interview.
Beck's transfer had been a bit shocking throughout college football. He was leaving Georgia, and after declaring for the NFL Draft, chose instead to stay in school but go to The U.

Clearly, the money must've mattered, but Beck also saw a program that had just done big things with another transfer QB, Cam Ward.
The move has worked out quite nicely for Beck.
The Ole Miss team that Kiffin put together, but then abandoned, was his opponent on Thursday night. And Beck was sharp throughout, and clutch late with the game-winning touchdown run.
Now, Beck and Miami will play for a national championship.

The Hurricanes await the winner of Friday's College Football Playoff semifinal between Indiana and Oregon.
Miami hasn't been this deep in the postseason in more than two decades.
By that measure, it seems like Beck was worth every penny.
