Lane Kiffin continues to rebuild LSU’s roster through the transfer portal, adding another key piece from his former program.

Ole Miss edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen signed with LSU on Wednesday, according to CBS Sports. The move strengthens what is already viewed as the top-ranked transfer class of the 2026 cycle. The move gives Kiffin his second five-star portal addition of the offseason.

Umanmielen is rated the No. 5 overall player and the No. 1 edge rusher in the portal, according to 247Sports. His commitment further boosts an LSU class that sits well ahead of the rest of the country as Kiffin works to finalize additions before the university’s deadline to enroll newcomers on Thursday.

Colorado offensive tackle Jordan Seaton is projected to join the Tigers next season. The five-star offensive tackle spent two years with Deion Sanders in Boulder before abruptly hitting the portal.

The Umanmielen transfer marks the fourth player to follow Kiffin from Ole Miss to LSU, joining linebacker TJ Dottery, interior offensive lineman Devin Harper and wide receiver Winston Watkins. That familiarity could help Umanmielen transition quickly in Baton Rouge.

Umanmielen is coming off his best collegiate season, leading Ole Miss with 13 tackles for loss and nine sacks in 2025. He also recorded an interception and a pass breakup, showcasing his versatility off the edge. A former blue-chip recruit, he began his career at Nebraska before emerging as a standout in the SEC.
