A former Indiana quarterback pushed back this week after a brief clip of his playing career appeared in a segment on 60 Minutes.

Babe Laufenberg, who led the Hoosiers at quarterback in the early 1980s, took issue with the CBS's segment during a feature on coach Curt Cignetti and Indiana’s rise to the top of the college football world. 

The feature included a clip of Laufenberg having a pass knocked down against Ohio State, which promoted a rebuttal on social media. Indiana’s long history of struggles were on display and he responded by noting what was left out.

"60 Minutes did a segment on Curt Cignetti and Indiana Football," Laufenberg wrote on X. "At the top, they showed me getting a pass knocked down vs Ohio State. (In this video.) I threw 4 TDs in that game, 3 shown here, zero INTs. I demand they show the ENTIRE GAME or I will sue for like, $16M."

Laufenberg was a two-year starter under Lee Corso, finishing his Indiana career with 4,256 passing yards and setting several school records at the time, including single-season passing yards and career completions. He later spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and has built a long career as a radio analyst.

The moment came as a backdrop to an extraordinary contrast. Indiana enters Monday night’s College Football Playoff national championship game as the No. 1 team in the country, set to face the Miami Hurricanes on ESPN (7:30 p.m. ET, Available on FuboTV).

It's a far cry from the eras often used to define the program’s past. The Hoosiers can become college football's first 16-0 team in 132 years.
