Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young will miss significant time after suffering a fractured leg in Saturday’s 43-35 win over Ole Miss, head coach Kirby Smart confirmed.
Young sustained the injury when he was tackled following a 36-yard reception in the first half. UGA Trainers quickly attended to him on the field before he was helped to the locker room. Smart did not specify a timeline for his return but described the injury as “not good.”
The Miami transfer has been one of the Bulldogs’ most reliable targets this season, ranking second on the team with 23 receptions for 336 yards and a touchdown, which came against Alabama earlier in the year.

Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said previously how Young’s role in Georgia’s passing attack was vital and worthy of 10+ targets per game.
Young’s absence is a major blow to Georgia’s offense as it enters the final stretch of the regular season. The Bulldogs are on a bye week before facing rival Florida in Jacksonville.
Georgia remains in contention for both the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff, but losing Young adds another challenge to its title aspirations. For now, it's about finding the next man up in Athens.
