Two major college football coaches fired. Is Deion Sanders next? image

The first round of coach firings came after Week 3 in college football. UCLA parted ways with DeShaun Foster on Sunday. The former NFL star was in the midst of his second season in Westwood. The news came after UCLA's 35-10 loss to New Mexico at the Rose Bowl on Friday night.

Foster was joined by Brent Pry, who is expected to be fired by Virginia Tech, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The Hokies started the season 0-3 in Blacksburg, including a 45-26 loss to Old Dominion on Saturday. Both firings begs the question who's next?

Could Colorado make an unexpected move to fire Deion Sanders? After a 1-2 start, the "Prime Effect" is starting to slowly fade away. The Buffaloes lost a close opener to Georgia Tech, who returned Atlanta to beat No. 12 Clemson this past weekend. However, a 31-7 win over FCS contender Delaware isn't enough to keep the Buffs faithful content with Sanders' progress.

We knew this would be the moment in time where Coach Prime's true colors would show. With his sons, Shilo and Shedeur, Travis Hunter and a handful of other playmakers in the NFL, we'll find out how good Sanders' development will be with the current roster. Coach Prime recruited five-star quarterback Julian Lewis and Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter to be the heir apparent to Shedeur Sanders moved.  Neither have lived up to the hype that fans expected from their arrival to the program.

The Buffs offense has been exposed for its lack of creativity and consistency is showing without Shedeur Sanders a the signal-caller. Their inconsistent rushing game is evident.  The Buffs averaged 32 rushing attempts in the first two weeks of the season. The question yet to be asked concerning why Ryan Staub was named the starter is was it because he was better than Slater and Lewis, or Coach Prime is trying to keep from demoting Pat Shurmur?  The Buffs have four offensive coordinators on his staff with NFL experience.

If Colorado bombs against Wyoming this week, watch out because calls for changes will get louder. Even if Sanders isn't on a hot seat, the major question will be how long will the QB carousel continue? Also, Shurmur is the best play-caller on Sanders' staff? Don't be surprised when Byron Leftwich takes over and Shurmur goes back to being an analyst on CU's staff.

Outside of Sanders, if Clemson continues down a terrible road, Dabo Swinney could be next up. Years of consistency in the ACC and two national titles has been his saving grace. Let's see if that storyline continues in the heart of this season.
