Deion Sanders weighs in on Browns QBs and his health on Pacman Jones show image

On yesterday’s edition of Politely Raw with Pacman Jones, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders touched on everything from NFL quarterbacks to his health with candor and humor.

The conversation took place before the Browns announced Dillon Gabriel as their Week 5 starter, and when asked about Cleveland’s unsettled quarterback situation, Sanders made it clear he respected veteran Joe Flacco. “I got love for Joe Flacco. He truly presented them with the best opportunity to win early on cause he don’t make many mistakes,” Sanders said. But when pressed for more, he chose to hold back, admitting, “I really have no comment in regard to that because you know we gonna go viral. It’s gonna go back to Shedeur. I don’t want it affecting and hurting Shedeur with my honest truth and assessment so I’m going to take the backseat on that one.”

The discussion then turned to Travis Hunter, and Sanders emphasized that the sophomore’s rare talent demands constant involvement. “To get the best of him, you got to feature him. You got to keep him involved because he’s a big play waiting to happen. This guy has a gift…Travis is one of a kind and you have to treat him as such.”

From there, Sanders addressed his own quarterback situation at Colorado and why stability is so important. “Who wants to play musical quarterbacks. Ain’t no one want to play musical quarterbacks. You want to play one guy. You want one guy to be the guy. We got it right. We got the guy that gives us the best opportunity to win at this point. Sometimes guys have to see the light and you have to help him see the light. And that’s not always comfortable.”

From football to his own recovery, Sanders closed the interview with humor about his ongoing health battles. “I’m good. I only have one problem, I cannot control my pee. Some days me and my grandson have a competition on who has the heaviest Depends.”
