When Deion Sanders came to Colorado, the message was clear to the masses. He was bringing his luggage and it was Louis. The introductory words Coach Prime told the Colorado Buffaloes players, who were held over from a 1-11 team, served as a warning.

Sanders spent his first months on the job shredding the Buffs roster with a record transfer portal turnover before the 2023 season. One of those who left was wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. While other former Buffs players didn't have much success at new stops along the way, the now Arizona State Sun Devils standout is thriving. Not only as the Big 12's leading receiver, but also one of the nation's top threats.

Tyson, who was once viewed as a castaway by Sanders and his staff, came in at No. 7 on ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr.'s latest big board for the 2026 NFL Draft. This puts him as the top receiver in next year's class.

"The Colorado transfer has teamed up with quarterback Sam Leavitt to light up defenses for two seasons now," Kiper wrote. "Tyson's superpower is being open even when it looks like he's completely blanketed. It makes him essentially un-coverable in the red zone. He wins on 50-50 balls and outmuscles defensive backs. His 252 receiving yards after first contact rank inside the top 50 nationwide."

Tyson is the latest example of one man's junk being another man's treasure. While Sanders' "Louis Vuitton luggage" consisted of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and his sons, Shilo and Shedeur Sanders, the Buffs would have definitely used Tyson's playmaking ability.

Now, Colorado (3-6) needs to win out for a lower-tier bowl game in Coach Prime third year in Boulder.
