Deion Sanders is in the midst of a low on his coaching career, but the Hall of Famer wasn’t about to miss a milestone moment for his son.

Sanders made the trip to Allegiant Stadium on Sunday to support rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders in his first NFL start for the Cleveland Browns.

Before kickoff, cameras caught the two embracing near the sideline, a brief father-son moment before Shedeur jogged onto the field.

Coach Prime then settled into a suite, where the CBS broadcast showed him reacting to the Browns’ opening series with the same intensity he displays on the CU sideline.

Deion said last week he debated visiting Shedeur before the game, worried about becoming the center of attention. “You don’t want to be his distraction,” he told reporters. But he also acknowledged the pull of fatherhood. “You start thinking that as a dad.”

“I know the fight behind the fight,” Sanders added. “I’m proud of him… He’s a Sanders.”

Shedeur became the first Colorado Buffaloes quarterback to start an NFL game in nearly a quarter-century.
