Deion Sanders’ cryptic message sparks reaction after major Colorado loss image

Deion Sanders broke his silence on social media Sunday with a cryptic, faith-based message shortly after Colorado lost its highest-profile player to the transfer portal.

Following Jordan Seaton’s announcement that he plans to leave the program, Sanders posted a message on X that did not directly reference the decision but drew immediate attention because of the timing.

“The Lord is My Shepherd & I shall not want,” Sanders wrote. “God has supplied ALL my needs & my wants are on me to go secure with the gifts that God gave me. This is why I NEVER worry, panic, trip & hate on anyone. I trust God & I surely trust me.”

The post came hours after Seaton, the highest-rated Colorado signee in more than a decade, announced he would enter the portal. While Sanders has previously criticized players for “chasing a bag,” the message carried a noticeably different tone following Seaton’s departure.

Seaton was heavily recruited by Shedeur Sanders and projected as a key piece for the Buffaloes as they continue to rebuild around rising quarterback Julian Lewis. His exit represents a significant setback for the Colorado Buffaloes, particularly along the offensive line.

A 6-foot-5, 310-pound lineman, Seaton was the No. 18 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to On3, and the nation’s top offensive tackle coming out of high school. On the field, he largely met expectations, earning preseason All-American and All-Big 12 recognition and posting a nation-leading 91.4 pass-blocking grade early in the 2025 season, per Pro Football Focus.

Shortly after his decision became public, an NIL asking price surfaced. A Florida booster told attorney Darren Heitner that Seaton is seeking approximately $2.5 million per year

By entering the portal, Seaton immediately became one of the most coveted players available and is widely expected to play one more college season before entering the NFL draft.
