Deion Sanders brings out 'The Legend', former CU players for Georgia Tech opener image

Deion Sanders is known for bringing out big guests on game days in Boulder. In fact, he has often joked about Colorado Buffaloes Football games looking like a red carpet event for the BET Awards.

The lead up to the season opener with Georgia Tech was no different. Shedeur Sanders is away in Cleveland and Travis Hunter just became a new father in Jacksonville, but his former standouts Jimmy Horn Jr. and Cam'Ron Silmon-Craig returned to Colorado to lead the team's Buff Walk to Folsom Field. They were joined by Hall-of-Famer Randy Moss, who addressed the team this week.

"I love what you're doing around here, coach. Because this is what I stand for," Moss told the Colorado players. "There was a reason why I told coach I wanted to come and see this team. There is a reason. All this professional football talent around here."

The bond between Sanders and Moss strengthened over Coach Prime's recent cancer battle.

Moss was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in 2024, prompting him to undergo chemotherapy treatments while maintaining his hosting duties for ESPN. He took it upon himself to keep up with Sanders as he recovered from bladder cancer this offseason. The topic was a notable moment during Coach Prime's conference as he announced to the world he was a cancer survivor.

"Randy Moss called me every other day to make sure I was straight," he said. (He) prayed for me. He and his wife told me what I needed to be doing. He's gone through some things very similar."

Sanders added, "I love him to life. Love him more than ever. He gave me so much strength and so much guidance. And so much love and respect and appreciation."

As for Horn, he made the Carolina Panthers' final roster after a strong training camp. The sixth-round pick is expected to be featured during his rookie season as another weapon for Bryce Young.

Silmon-Craig was recently cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars after going through the preseason as an undrafted rookie. But as of now, he's still in search of his next NFL opportunity.

Colorado prepares for a matchup with Georgia Tech on Friday night (8 p.m. ET on ESPN).
