Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders got a big win over No. 22 Iowa State on Saturday. The postgame celebration with fans storming the field brought on fears of another $50,000 fine being handed down by the Big 12.

Sanders even called on fans to "pitch in" after learning there might be a cost to the joyous moment. However, the conference decided not to fine Colorado and will likely put less stress on Coach Prime.

“That ain’t right," Sanders said. "I mean, these kids, well, we have 50,000, right? We can chip in. Let’s chip in. That's how it was when I grew up. You know, we going somewhere, everybody, before you get in the car with some gas, you gotta chip in,”

According to Boulder Daily Camera's Brian Howell, "The Big 12 informed Colorado on Tuesday that it "executed its field storm management procedures" and will not receive a fine for fans rushing the field.

The conference let Colorado off-the-hook on this one. Likely due to this being Sanders second win over a ranked opponent and the first at home. The other came during Coach Prime's debut at TCU in 2023.

Colorado held ISU quarterback Rocco Becht to 205 passing yards and an interception. On the other hand, Kaidon Salter had one of his most complete games with 255 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Sanders and the Buffs will try to keep their bowl hopes alive in a second-half rush, including at No. 23 Utah next week.
