Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders thanks fans for gifts after ‘my house got robbed’ image

The win mattered. The growth mattered. But it was the final moment at the podium that left the room laughing.

After the Cleveland Browns’ home victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, quarterback Shedeur Sanders wrapped up his postgame press conference with humor, joking about gifts from fans and referencing a recent scare at his home.

Asked about a large carpet he received before the game, Sanders said it had already found its place.

“We got it at the house now,” he said. “Yeah, I really love gifts. I don’t think for Christmas I got much. So if anybody out there want to send me gifts, I’ll post my P.O. Box online.”

Sanders then leaned fully into the joke.

“And just please send clothes, anything, jewelry, bags, because all my bags got stolen when my house got robbed…so appreciate y’all.”

The humor came after a press conference rooted in self-evaluation. Sanders never framed the win as a finished product, calling the night “bittersweet” despite beating a division rival.

“We can’t be happy with only 13 points on the board,” he said. “I got to do my part a little bit more.”

He also reflected on what the home win meant after earlier struggles in the season, emphasizing how the moment finally felt earned.

"I’ve been wanting to secure a victory at home for a while now," Sanders shared regarding the win that his father, Deion Sanders, attended. "That’s what’s great. I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to bring that feeling back to this place."

The victory, Sanders explained, didn’t change the team’s approach as much as it validated it.

“The only difference is now we got the result we were supposed to get,” he said. “Everybody’s going about their business the same way…we just got the result we were looking for.”

After a rivalry win, a first home victory, and another step in his development, Sanders left the podium smiling, thankful for the win, the growth, and, apparently, any gifts that might be on the way.
