Kevin Riley and AK Dear each scored twice as No. 10 Alabama rolled to a 56-0 win over Eastern Illinois on Saturday, a tune-up before next week’s Iron Bowl.

Alabama (9-2) held out several starters, including receiver Germie Bernard, center Parker Brailsford and tight end Josh Cuevas. Cuevas’ status for Auburn is uncertain after a practice injury. “We’ll just have to see how he comes along in the next week,” coach Kalen DeBoer said.

With the 73-0 over UL Monroe eariler in the year, Alabama closes out the season 129-0 against non-Power Four foes with another shutout.

The Crimson Tide outgaining the Panthers 539-34. Alabama rushed for a season-high 269 yards and scored all eight offensive touchdowns on the ground — its most rushing TDs in a game since 1979.

Quarterbacks Ty Simpson, Austin Mack and Keelon Russell all directed scoring drives, though Simpson threw two interceptions, extending his turnover streak to seven games.

A blocked punt and an early interception helped Alabama build a 35-0 halftime lead, giving reserves extended playing time. Kicker Conor Talty missed a 28-yard field goal and was later replaced.

The Tide now turn to Auburn with an SEC title berth and playoff hopes still in play.
