Amir Khan earned himself the nickname "Aura" during the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a boombox-carrying manager extraordinaire for McNeese State.

When head coach Will Wade left for NC State, Khan followed him to Raleigh, North Carolina.

But in recent days, it appears Khan is back at McNeese.

There's a lot that we don't know, because this is just a basketball manager, not a big-name transfer portal addition. But there are a lot of moving parts here.

Who is Amir 'Aura' Khan?

Amir Khan is a basketball manager in Division I hoops.

He was with McNeese State through the end of the 2024-25 season, gaining notoriety during the NCAA Tournament.

Did Amir Khan have NIL deals?

It's not known for sure, but given the notoriety and following Khan built up during last season's NCAA Tournament, it would've worked for a company to be promoted by him on his social media accounts.

A satirical news account posted this, that Khan left NC State over an NIL dispute:

That account is known for posting fake news, so the details there may not be true. But he does appear to have latched on to the fact that Khan appears to have left the Wolfpack.

Where is Amir Khan now?

As of December 1, it appears Khan is back at McNeese.

This post is from that school's basketball SID:

Khan's bios on X and IG both say he's a McNeese manager, so that appears to be the case at the moment, whatever the reason.
