Seth Trimble injury update: UNC guard gets brutal news image

The North Carolina Tar Heels have gotten off to a great start to the new college basketball season.

But on Sunday, they got some bad injury news.

Star guard Seth Trimble will be out for an extended period of time.

UNC released the news in a release on Sunday evening.

Seth Trimble injury update

UNC announced that Trimble broke a bone in his left forearm during a team workout on Sunday.

Trimble is going to have surgery in the week ahead.

"The exact length of his absence from the lineup will be better known following the surgery," the release stated.

Tar Heels head coach Hubert Davis said this in the release: "So sad for Seth. He's such a great kid and teammate and has worked so hard for his senior year. He loves being a Tar Heel and we love him. The good news is he will be back at some point this year, and I know he will continue to be a great leader for us until he can get back in the lineup."

Trimble has played in 104 games in his career for North Carolina.

His defense was crucial in Friday night's win over Kansas as he got the assignment on super freshman Darryn Peterson.

Trimble also scored 17 points in that game, and he seemed primed for a massive season.

UNC will have to figure out a lot of roles on its team now that need to be filled without Trimble.
