The NCAA Women's Tournament is underway and there are 21 Canadians ready to win a championship.
Leading the way for this group is Iowa State guard Bridget Carleton who averaged 24.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.2 blocks on her way to becoming the first player in school history to win Big-12 Player of the Year. The third-seeded Cyclones will start their tournament action at home against New Mexico State.

Carleton's Canadian national team teammate and All-B1G first team selection Shay Colley hopes to push nine-seed Michigan State past Central Michigan to a deep tournament run. The Spartans have never won a national championship in program history, and last reached the final game of the tournament in 2005.
It would normally be difficult, if not impossible, to determine the most Canadian team in a basketball tournament comprised of American schools. However, the University at Buffalo sports five Canucks on its roster while no other team has more than two. The 10th-seeded Bulls defeated Rutgers 82–71 on Friday to move on to the Round of 32.
