The Louisville Cardinals basketball program pulled off a big recruiting flip on Monday.
No longer committed to South Carolina, Isaac Ellis is coming to the U of L.
Rivals broke the news on Monday of Ellis' commitment to Louisville.
Ellis is a 6-foot-1 junior. When he committed to the Gamecocks, he was a member of the Class of 2026, but he reclassified to 2027 when he reopened his recruitment last month.
He's the younger brother of South Carolina freshman Eli Ellis, who has put up 10.2 points per game for the Gamecocks. It may not be a great sign for how long the older brother will stick around at South Carolina.
Isaac Ellis plays his high school ball for Moravian Prep in North Carolina. He averages 30.4 points per game to go with 8.0 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals.
Ellis is listed as a 3-star combo guard by Rivals.
This is what Isaac Ellis told Rivals about Louisville:
“I love the culture and the entire staff… everybody preaches on family and culture but you can kind of sniff out when they are faking it. On my visit I could tell everything they preach on they follow, it was a super great culture a lot of energy and a really high standard.”
Ellis took an unofficial visit to Louisville over the weekend and committed before he left town.
It's a solid get for Pat Kelsey, who will want to hold onto this Ellis in case his older brother ever looks for a new college basketball home, too.
