Long before he decided to attend BYU, AJ Dybantsa was regarded as a top-flight prospect and a possible top overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

The first 13 games of Dybantsa's NCAA career have done nothing to dispel that notion.

Dybantsa on Monday night made college basketball history by becoming the youngest player to record a 30-point triple-double. In the 10th-ranked Cougars' dominant 109-81 victory over the Eastern Washington Eagles, Dybantsa recorded 33 points, 10 rebounds and a season-high 10 assists to continue the scorching start to his collegiate career.

Dybantsa is shooting 59 percent from the field and averaging 23.1 points per game in what many expect will be his sole NCAA season. On the eve of Big 12 action getting underway, Dybantsa and the Cougars have a 12-1 record, their only loss coming to fourth-ranked UConn by two points on Nov. 15.

It's safe to say that NBA franchises are taking notice of what the 19-year-old Dybantsa is achieving over in Provo, Utah. Dybantsa features regularly in the top three of most NBA mock drafts ahead of next year; he forms part of a loaded class that also includes Kansas guard Darryn Peterson and Duke forward Cameron Boozer ranked toward the top.
