Bradley Braves scored on their own basket off a player's head — UT-Martin won't complain image

There are a lot of different ways to score 2 points in a basketball game.

But in Wednesday's clash between Bradley and UT-Martin, a new one may have been uncovered.

Off a miss by the UT-Martin Skyhawks, the ball deflected down toward a few players waiting underneath the basket for a rebound.

The ball wasn't corralled, though. Instead, it hit off a Bradley player's head.

And then, somehow, the ball bounced off that head, back up onto the rim, took a little roll and dropped through.

Definitely the weirdest two points UT-Martin will score this season.

One of the most amusing parts of an "own-basket" like this is that it isn't recorded as such in the stats. Someone on the offense gets credit for a 2-pointer here.

It goes to the guy closest to the play, which here looks like No. 44. That's Matas Deniusas, from Lithuania, with the most unlikely 2 points he's ever going to score in his life.

UT-Martin got to enjoy the road win in Peoria, too, a 78-67 triumph to move to 3-0 on the season. This play likely won't make their season highlight reel, but it helped them continue a fast start to the campaign.
