The Iowa State men's basketball team will square off with St. John's and Creighton when action begins later this year at the Players Era Men's Championship.

The event takes place in Las Vegas this November. The tournament debuted last year, with each team earning at least $1 million towards NIL for the school.

Coming off a season in which they were ranked in the Top 5 for several weeks, the Cyclones will be replacing key players Curtis Jones and Keshon Gilbert. Tamin Lipsey and Joshua Jefferson return, along with some key transfers for head coach TJ Otzelberger.

Iowa State will play St. John's on Monday, November 24 at 3:30 p.m. Iowa time and take on Creighton the next day at 1:30 p.m. A third opponent will be announced following the completion of the first two days of the event.

St. John's is ranked fifth in ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25 while Creighton is No. 22. The Cyclones have played St. John's twice, with the two splitting the meetings.

Iowa State holds a 17-15 advantage all-time vs. Creighton, with the last meeting being in 2021. The two will also square off on October 17 in Omaha in an exhibition game this season.

Oregon defeated Alabama in the championship game of the event last year. Houston, who won the Big 12 and reached the national title game, lost to San Diego State for third.

Along with Iowa State, St. John's and Creighton, Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Gonzaga, Houston, Kansas, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Rutgers, San Diego State, Saint Joseph's, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas A&M and UNLV are set for the event.
