Walter Clayton Jr. points today: Gators guard finishes in double-digits after zero in the first half of title game image

Florida took on Houston in the 2025 national championship game on Monday night, and many expected a banner night for senior guard Walter Clayton Jr., who had been on fire all tournament. That wasn't the case early on.

Clayton can do a little bit of everything on the court, and many fans joked he never met a shot he didn't love. Clayton's confidence was often a strong suit of his, but it can cause him to launch shots from weird angles. Still, when the Gators guard gets hot, he's one of the best shooters in college basketball.

Unfortunately for Florida, Clayton's kryptonite looked like it was the Houston defense. Clayton couldn't figure out the Cougars in the first half of Monday's national game, disappearing from the box score in the first half before becoming a key part of Florida's second-half comeback in the 65-63 win.

Here's a breakdown of Clayton's performance in the national championship.
