Jon Scheyer just got a big recruiting win, literally.
Maxime Meyer is a 7-foot-1 center, and he'll be joining the Duke Blue Devils. Meyer is a member of the Class of 2026 and committed to Duke on Thursday, according to Rivals.
Meyer is just listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 122 player in his class, but he's clearly well-regarded by Scheyer and his staff. He plays for IMG Academy, the powerhouse in Florida, but is originally from Canada.
Meyer's offer list also included defending national champion Florida, along with Stanford, Vanderbilt and SMU. He played over the summer on the adidas 3SSB Circuit and averaged 9.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game.
Meyer has also played for Canada's under-19 national team.
Duke now has two Class of 2026 commits. The first was from five-star guard Bryson Howard, who is the son of former NBA All-Star Josh Howard.
The Blue Devils' current roster is led by a highly heralded class of freshmen, including the Boozer twins. But by next season, at least a few of the young stars will probably have moved on to the NBA, potentially leaving space for Meyer to slide into the middle of the lineup and be a presence immediately.
