The thought was that Cooper Flagg's freshman season at Duke would be hard to follow.

Cameron Boozer was going to be the one given that task. He headlined the Blue Devils' new class of freshmen.

And, well, by some metrics, Boozer isn't just following Flagg's footsteps. He's exceeding them.

Check out this chart, which shows the notable advanced metrics that Boozer is outdoing Flagg in:

Important to note: That's an offensive chart. It doesn't account for Flagg's defensive contributions, which were impressive.

But still, Boozer is delivering on all his potential.

It was expected that he'd be one of those uber-polished freshmen, for sure, but he's doing that to the maximum extent.

Boozer is averaging 23.3 points, 9.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 58% from the field, including 37.3% from 3-point range, and 77.0% from the foul line.

He's a superstar, currently having the best season of anyone in the country.

He's not a shoo-in for the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft because there are some questions about his long-term ceiling, but he'll surely be plenty effective in the pros for a long time, too.
