Wizards trade rumors: this potential future All-Star could be on trade block image

The Washington Wizards have been near the bottom of the league for too long. Although their season had some positive takeaways, they still ended the year as one of the worst teams in the NBA. Now, Wizards trade rumors are starting to swirl as the team tries to gear up for a better future. One recent report is saying that a Jordan Poole trade is officially on the table as one of the team’s options this offseason.

Jordan Poole’s stats this season were pretty damn good. He averaged a career high in points (20.5), assists (4.5), steals (1.3), and three-point percentage (37.8).

That doesn’t seem to have secured him a spot in the Wizards' future plans.

As recently reported Rafael Barlowe, the Wizards are not ruling out a Jordan Poole trade.

“Around the league, there’s growing belief that Jordan Poole could be moved, either on draft night or later this summer. That potential shake-up adds another layer to Washington’s draft strategy and could open up a path for a new backcourt face.”

This Wizards trade rumor means that Washington could be willing to trade their best scorer from last season, despite his career year.

To be fair, if the Wizards don’t believe that Poole is the point guard of the future in Washington, trading him now may be a good idea.

Poole’s value is much higher than it was at the end of last season, and as the Wizards are looking to stay very young and continue their rebuild, Poole is going to take a lot of shots away from developing players.

It will be interesting to see what Poole’s trade value is around the league, as he is a bit of a polarizing player. But if the Wizards can get off his big contract and recoup some value, it is probably the right move to make.
