The Toronto Raptors have a new forward on their roster.

And he might be more well-known because of who his sister is than for his own game, through no fault of his own.

Julian Reese was signed by the Raptors on Friday, according to Spotrac's Keith Smith. He's the brother of WNBA star Angel Reese.

While not announced by Toronto, it's almost certainly an Exhibit 10 deal. That would require the Raptors to waive Reese this weekend so he could then end up playing for their G League team, Raptors 905.

Julian is a 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward who just concluded his college career in the spring. He spent four college seasons at Maryland, putting together two strong campaigns as a junior and senior.

Across the final two seasons of his college career, Julian averaged 13.5 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.7 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He shot 55.1% from the floor in that span.

One main knock on Julian is his shooting. He didn't attempt a single 3-pointer in his final three seasons at Maryland.

Angel was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Julian isn't that highly regarded.

But the chance to earn a real opportunity in the G League in his first professional season would be a good one, and if he can prove himself there, maybe there could even be NBA action in his future to make a name for himself.
