He was one of the biggest free agent names available, yet another center just got a very similar deal to Turner's in free agency.

What center just got a huge contract?
ESPN's Shams Charania reported that the Raptors would be extending center Jakob Poeltl to a 4-yr/$104 million contract.
Poeltl was originally drafted by the Raptors, but played for the Spurs for a while before being traded back to the Raptors in 2023.
It paid off, because Poeltl averaged 14.5 PPG, 9.6 RPG and 1.2 BPG in the 2024-25 season.

The Raptors are starting to put together a quality roster and are extending players who can help them get back into playoff positioning.
Poeltl famously said in an interview before last season that Toronto wasn't chasing a championship.
Last season, they dealt with health issues and were a fairly young team, but after acquiring Brandon Ingram and getting players back healthy, Toronto could be back to being a competitive team in the East sooner rather than later.
